I have been hearing about kindles craking with this cover.I’ve had mine since March 2009 and have not had this problem,but I could see how this problem could happen.If you filped the kindle over with case open,it could crake.But why,would I flip my kindle over? When I read I flip the cover back and hold the kindle,when I put it away I fold the cover over the kindle.I never flip my kindle in the case.To me the cover has held up to my folding,unfolding and it looks nice.If there were repeated craking with cover it would show amazon’s loyalty to kindle owners to recall cover.
